Payments Processing
Decipha can capture, validate and bank payments as part of our processing service.
This includes the processing of:
- Credit Card Payments
- Cheque and Money Order Payments
- Cash Payments
In each of the above instances, Decipha will:
- Collect the payment: whether delivered by mail, fax, email or via the internet (using our hosted online forms solution).
- Process the payment: depending on the payment involved, Decipha will:
- Capture the required payment and remittance information: this can include via data capture and MICR swipe for cheques.
- Validate the payment: this depends on the payment involved. Examples of this could include an upfront check for the presence of a signature on a credit card payment or that a cheque is not post-dated). Alternatively, this could be a "two pass" process whereby payment information is captured twice and reconciled for accuracy.
- Reconcile the payment information: match the payment to the reconciliation to ensure the correct amount is being banked.
- Bank the payment: at your nominated banking provider. This can be done electronically for credit card payments, or by delivery of cash / cheques with an appropriate banking manifest. Common practice is for payments to be banked the day of receipt at Decipha.
- Report on payment activity: at the end of each day's processing, various agreed reporting (potentially a manifest or daily processing report) will be provided for your records.
